Special Programs for this month

Annual Ice Cream Sunday Fundraiser
Sunday, August 6

12 noon – 5 pm

Join us on Sunday August 6 at the Santa Fe Children’s Museum, in honor of the 13th annual Ice Cream Sunday Fundraiser. This popular annual community event features delicious deserts, interactive workshops, family-friendly entertainment, as well as the raffle of a Children’s Playground Set.

Visitors of all ages will enjoy root beer floats and ice cream sundaes featuring a variety of toppings and hosted by our civic “celebrity scoopers,” who will be dishing out the ice cream.  Sundaes are $4 each, floats are $3, and lemonade is $1.

To add to the fun, children can participate in hands-on art-making, bounce in a “jump-around” castle, or climb aboard an Arroyo Hondo Fire Department fire truck.  They can also test their agility on the climbing wall.  Annie Rose the flower fairy will paint faces, and Paul Adams will dazzle partygoers with feats of juggling and balloon twisting.  Families can enjoy watching martial arts exhibitions by the Tae Kwon Do Institute and other entertainment provided by the De Vargas Middle School’s Mariachi Conquistador group, dancers from the Children’s Dance Program, and young musicians from David W. Yard Guitar Studios.  Additional selected activities will be available for a charge.

Raffle tickets for the Children’s Playground Set will be available for $5 each or 5 tickets for $20.  Drawing for the winner will be held Sunday, September 24, at the annual Santa Fe Children’s Museum Harvest Festival.

Ice Cream Sunday is made possible through the generosity of Wal-Mart, Dreyer’s Ice Cream, Los Alamos National Bank, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Santa Fe, Candyman, Santa Fe Party Rentals, and Santa Fe Polar Ice Distributors.  Proceeds from the event will help fund museum exhibits and programs.

The Santa Fe Children’s Museum is located at 1050 Old Pecos Trail.  The museum is totally accessible to the handicapped.  For more information call 989-8359, extension 107.
